About the module
Conventional electronics faces growing limits from miniaturization and heat dissipation. Spintronics addresses this challenge by using not only electron charge but also electron spin, enabling new ways to generate, manipulate and detect spin currents with low dissipation.
The module introduces nanomagnetism, nanofabrication and spintronics. Hands-on activities include magnetic thin-film fabrication in a cleanroom, magneto-optical magnetometry, ferromagnetic resonance, spin pumping and the inverse spin Hall effect, including experimental assembly.
